People ask us all the time how they can get more “likes” on their Facebook Business Page. The thing is, there are so many different avenues you can take. Some people like to “pay for likes”, but a lot of the “like” generating services provide you with people who are unlikely to engage or could even be fake accounts. Not only that, but AdEspresso explains how it could damage your business.
But hey, who are we to judge? Do your thing, homie.
Some people run ongoing ads for page likes. This isn’t a bad strategy to implement because it allows you to take a focused approach by using the interest-based, geographical, and demographical targeting of Facebook’s Ad Platform and puts your page in front of the customer profiles you’re looking for. If you’re willing to “pay for likes”, do it through running an ongoing Facebook ad with the objective as Engagement to gain more Page Likes. If you’re a client of Dippidi, we can always implement this into your quarterly marketing plans.
The strategy we’ve come up with is a little different than “paying for likes”. In fact, it costs nothing. It just takes a small amount of work on your end and a little bit of help from the closest people in your network.
Word of mouth is the most effective marketing, right!?
We think it is after trying this outreach strategy. By using this tactic over the last 10 days, we’ve increased our page likes by 1,000+, from 1,476 likes to 2,481 likes as of today.
Oh, and guess what? They’re all real people and we’ve received 3 inquiries for our marketing services. Talk about a referral marketing strategy.
The way we see it is there are 4 different outcomes you can receive from performing this outreach campaign, and all of them are wins our on eyes.
Worst Case Scenario:
People at bare minimum get to see your brand’s name for the first time from someone in their close network. It’s like free brand awareness.
2nd Best Case Scenario:
People click around on some photos or links and enter your retargeting audience for future ad campaigns.
Best Case Scenario:
They like your page and enter your retargeting audience for future ad campaigns.
Very Best Case Scenario:
They do all the above, message you to start a conversation, or inquire about your services. Oh, yeah, and enter your retargeting audience for future ad campaigns.
There are few things you want to make sure you have in place before you start this organic outreach campaign:
Ok, so the first step is an easy one.
Take a look at who is engaging with all of your content that you are posting to the wall of your Facebook Business Page. If you click the number of likes you received on the post, Facebook will pull up all the people who have liked the content. It will show you all the people who have “Liked” your page already and also the people who you can “Invite” to like your page.
Do it.
These are people who have been engaging with your brand. Invite them to like your page, so they can have the opportunity to see your future posts and engage with them. Who knows, maybe they’ll become a customer one day, or maybe they will know someone who can benefit from what you offer and refer them. We’ve seen it happen for us.
There is truly a power in numbers. You and your team should be inviting all of your personal friends from Facebook to like your page. People, especially those close to you or those that can relate to you, admire supporting the small businesses and entrepreneurs of their community.
The average Facebook user has 338 friends, so if you have 10 employees, that's a pool of 3,380 people that could at least be introduced to your brand’s from being invited to like your page.
It’s free advertising. Take advantage.
Now, here is the secret sauce.
You must ask for the favor.
Ask your close friends, business owners, other influential sphere connections, local figures in the community, and/or a handful of people connected to your target market to invite ALL of their friends to “Like” your business page. Remember, people are willing to help if you just ask. Check out what happened when we did it:
